Robots perform the work in Denmark
25-07-2008
Business conditions:
Robots are increasingly becoming the new colleague at the Danish workplaces. The number of robots has over the past 12 years increased from 858 to now 3626. From 2002 the actual growth in the number of robots has been 11 percent annually, shows a study carried out by Dansk Erhverv, according to Berlingske Business.
Steen Rytlig, who is Marketing Director in Dansk Erhverv, describes it as a good development.
- The increased use of robots in Danish companies is a positive development which shows the high degree of adaptability in the Danish business industry, says Mr Steen Rytlig.
The use of robots is in line with rising wages in Asia and the fact that the cost of freight is also shooting up as a result of the high energy prices. This has led companies to meet the challenges of globalisation by other means than outsourcing production. Instead, they refine and develop new technology to optimize the production.
